ACTIVATING Your Message: Part Two - Episode 143

What is the simplest way to activate a dream you have? That is what I'm sharing with you today. In this episode you'll learn my gentle and simple process to taking all of your new discoveries (have you listened to Part One yet??) and creating action steps for it.

You can't bring something into your life without beginning to create action. You must "Be Bold and Begin". What you will discover through starting is unmatched to what you can mull over just inside your mind. You must let it out and let it breath to give it life...even if it's a short one.

You get to decide what is for you and if it's coming from a place of alignment, particularly your, your heart and your and you feel this is connected to purpose and it's exciting and you desire it, then it is not wrong and you can have it and it's for you. So when we tell ourselves that it is not, that's the lie. It all begins by understanding the mind. I want to be happy now. I don't care about the future. I want to be happy right now. You are not alone. You are never, ever, ever alone in this.

This is Barsi, your host, and I'm going to start by saying if you haven't listened to our previous episode, accessing your message, then pause this one and start with that one. Okay.

In our last episode, I shared a bunch of small questions you can begin asking yourself and how to reframe them to serve you. So today we'll be building on that process. And this is specifically pertaining to the topic, of course, which is developing your core message that is on your heart that you feel is emerging from you, that comes from a place of intuitive purpose, from this part of you that knows why you're here. And in the previous episode, just a reminder that I shared that this part of you can be expressed many, many different ways. So today's episode is discovering what some of those ways might be and activating your message through some action. So if you did take the time to try the exercises that I've shared with you in the previous episode, then by now you've made some discoveries. And regardless of what those discoveries were, the next step is one of these two options. One, you may need more exploration.

Barsi [00:03:17]:

More small questions are needed to continue exploring and coming into awareness that there is something more aligned for you to experience. And maybe you need more time to allow space to explore what this might be again, from a place of kindness and curiosity. And if that's where you are, that's so normal. It's designed to take as long as it needs to take. It's really different for everyone, and it's different even for you, maybe depending on where you are in your life. What may have taken less time in trying to discover this at another part of your life may take a different amount of time. This time, there's really no rules when it comes to making discoveries. And then the second option is you did have one or two discoveries that felt exciting and inspiring and maybe a little scary or even impossible to have in your life.

Barsi [00:04:12]:

So that's usually where you're at either needing to go a little deeper, spend a little more time sort of developing the access to the discovery, or you've had one or two discoveries that you'd like to explore further. So if you're feeling like that first option is you then really going back to the last episode and trying some of those questions again, or even creating new ones for yourself, is going to help you along further in developing more awareness and access to what you're wanting to create discoveries around for yourself. And if you're feeling the second option, then we're going to go through a few more exercises. So if you want to do this in real time as you're listening, then grab a piece of paper or a journal or something to write with. It does work a little nicer if you actually write on a piece of paper with pen, pencil, or something fun like a marker versus typing on your computer or on your phone, only because it activates different parts of the brain when we do that, and we process information differently when we do that, but do whatever works for you. So the first thing you're going to write is what feels exciting about it? What are all the things that are coming up for you that you're excited about? When you think of this discovery that you've made, or even if it's not fully formed, that's okay too, but you're onto something and you're ready to explore that. Start from that excitement. Start from that Ooh, what is this? The part that's giving you that spark.

Barsi [00:05:45]:

And you can just free write, like a big paragraph. You can write a list. What, however it comes out for you is perfectly fine. Then I'd love for you to write down everything about it that feels aligned to you. What about it feels like you. What about it is speaking to you that feels like something that is related to who you are and the way that you want to express in this lifetime, or at least at this point in your lifetime. And again, that can be just a big paragraph or it can be a list. However that comes out for you again is totally fine.

Barsi [00:06:24]:

Now I'd love for you to write down as a list all of the reasons you think it's not for you or you can't have it, all of the things that are kind of coming up as blocks. And sometimes the blocks are so quick because we are, our brains typically are trained to shut down something that we don't believe is for us. If we already have that belief, which is oftentimes why we haven't done something yet, we think it's not for us. But this emergence of, ooh, maybe this is for me. And then allowing the reasons, the negative part, the stuff that has been shutting it down, allowing that to have a voice for just a moment, just so you can see what it's been saying to you. Then right beside each one of those reasons, write down why this is a lie. Write down why it's a lie, why you can have it, why it's for you, why there's no reason that you can't, why, why this belief system that it's not for you is not true. All the reasons why it's a lie right next to each one.

Barsi [00:07:35]:

So it's basically a reframe exercise once again. But the truth is, is that you get to decide what is for you. And if it's coming from a place of alignment, particularly your. Your heart and your. And you feel this is connected to purpose and it's exciting and you desire it, then it is not wrong for you, and you can have it, and it's for you. So when we tell ourselves that it is not, that's the lie. So when you're done with that, the next step is to write down a few small action steps to how you might begin exploring this new idea with action or perhaps old idea, that has always been a dream. The difference between it being a dream and becoming a part of your life is the action.

Barsi [00:08:25]:

So this part is really important, even if it changes which is very common. Sometimes we start with a certain vision of how we think something is going to be a part of our life. And it shows up really differently, but it gives us the outcome that we were hoping for, the fulfillment part, the part, the feelings that we wanted. Sometimes that changes. But if you don't activate it with some kind of action step, then it doesn't breathe long enough to even change. It will just stay stuck in that infant stage inside your mind. And we need to get it out with some small action steps so that it can start to have a life. And like everything that has a life, it will change, it will grow, it will evolve.

Barsi [00:09:19]:

And we need to begin that process so that we can start the journey of exploration further in a way that is tangible. Because if this is something you really are excited about or interested in exploring, then we need to start actually exploring it so that we can get to the thing that will bring us what we are looking for. So what is one small step that you can take? And I'm talking about small, really small steps like researching something online or asking a question of someone you know who maybe has gone before you or done something similar, or who you trust or who knows you really well, or who you may have shared this with before you know, something like that. It could be as simple as buying a special journal to further explore and ideate just for this idea. Or maybe you plan a coffee date with yourself to explore it further. And if any of those still sound, those are just suggestions only you can decide what the next best action step is for you. Because I don't know what your idea is, or what your lifestyle is or what your schedule looks like. But that's the beauty of this as well, is that you get to decide what your next best step is.

Barsi [00:10:38]:

And it does not have to be a big, wide, sweeping, huge change that you have to bring into your life suddenly now that you have this discovery right, which I'm guilty of, I often see way too far in the future when I make discoveries like this, which isn't a bad thing as long as you can bring it back to this first small step and allowing yourself space to let that be a good enough start. So that is what I'm sharing with you now. That's how we begin, is in this small, small moment, making the discovery and then exploring it and putting an action towards that exploration to make it tangible. So it could be even smaller than that. It could be writing an affirmation on your whiteboard, let's say, or another one I like is putting it in your calendar and making it something that you schedule, that you carve out, even if it's just 10 minutes, 15 minutes, maybe 5 minutes, seems maybe a little too short to spend on an idea, but whatever you have time for, and if you do do that, then I'd love if you made it a little fun and choose an emoji that is fun. You can add to the title of this calendar event and you can look forward to it and know that that is a fun little moment you're gonna have as you continue to explore. So whatever that small step looks like to you, choose one. If you have two small steps that are emerging, you can do them both.

But I really encourage you not to do too many at this beginning stage. So as you're doing this, keep checking in on how you feel when you're adding the small action steps. Notice how you're feeling. Try to feel into where the feelings are coming from. And maybe they're all feelings of, you know, excitement or you're feeling encouraged. Wonderful. If other things are coming up for you, like moments of fear or anxiety is not uncommon. When we're doing new things or even exploring new things, feelings like this can come up.
